Complex scaled tangent rotations (CSTAR) for fast space-time adaptive equalization of wireless TDMA
نویسنده
چکیده
A new update algorithm for space–time equalization of wireless time-division multiple access signals is presented. The method is based on a modified QR factorization that reduces the computational complexity of the traditional QR-decomposition based recursive least squares method and maintains numerical stability. Square roots operations are avoided due to the use of an approximately orthogonal transformation, defined complex scaled tangent rotation.

An adaptive space-time DFE combined with successive interference cancellation
We investigate the use of a multi-element antenna array (MEA) at the base station (BS) in a time division multiple access (TDMA) broadband fixed wireless access (BFWA) system. At high data rates the intersymbol interference (ISI) induced by dispersive channels becomes a technological bottleneck. Space-time processing at the BS offers a solution to improve the wireless link quality in the uplink...
متن کاملBroadband Fixed Radio Access
The requirements for the digital signal processing of broadband wireless access systems are investigated. A discussion of different multiple access schemes considering the boundary conditions of future services is given, resulting in a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) proposal. The dominant TDMA component is the adaptive equalizer. Different eligible equalizer structures and adaptation algo...

This contribution describes a new fast adaptive coherent receiver for the detection of Trellis-Coded-Modulated (TCM) signals transmitted over Time-Division-Multiple-Access (TDMA) based cellular mobile radio links affected by fast-fading multipaths and cochannel interference. The equalization and decoding tasks are jointly accomplished by a Symbol-by-Symbol (SbS)-MAP [8,Sect.6.6] combined equali...
متن کاملMultiple Access and Equalization Issues for 156 Mb/s ATM Radio in the Local Loop
This paper compares different multiple access schemes for broadband wireless local loop systems with a total shared capacity of 156 Mb/s per radio cell. Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) are appropriate system concepts. The focus is on adaptive equalization issues for both access schemes.
متن کاملThe Effects of Multiple Access Schemes on Equalization for Broadband Wireless Local Loop Systems
Single carrier time division multiple access (TDMA) and orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) are promising for broadband fixed radio access (FRA) in terms of flexibility, bandwidth-efficiency and implementation cost. Coherent detection of QPSK-symbols requires adaptive equalization. We focus on equalizer adaptation in time-variant frequency-selective FRA-channels in the presenc...
